Church Biography

The call to begin this ministry was placed upon Pastor Billy E. Chatman, Jr.'s heart 3 years ago. Pastor Chatman has been a minister for the past 14 years. Chatman was a former captain with the City of Louisville Fire Department when he was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. He retired with a medical disability after 14 years with the department. The Lord opened the door, and Pastor Chatman, his wife Nicci, their son Billy III, and 5 additional members began holding weekly bible studies and Sunday morning worship services at the Oak and Acorn Community Center in the month of August 2005.

Pastor Chatman has a vision to impact the community by getting out in the streets and ministering to people in this neighborhood that nobody wants to deal with. The homeless, the drug addicts, the alcoholics, and the prostitutes. The Temple of Delivarence Worship Center's theme is "Taking the City by Force". The kingdom suffereth violence and the violent taketh it by force. Matthew 11:12.

Two months later we leased our first building at 1821 W. Muhammad Ali Blvd on October 7, 2005. On February 4, 2007 the Lord blessed us to move to our current location at 910 E. Muhammad Ali Blvd. This ministry has great potential to reach the lost at any cost! The congregation has a current membership of 40 faithful souls that love the Lord, and are striving to win souls.
